In June 2018 we'll be heading to Tanzania with our lucky group of photographers and travellers.

Of all the countries in Africa Tanzania is as iconic as African Safari s get!

Where the snow on the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro looks overs the plains of the Serengeti, wildlife abounds in staggering numbers. This is the site of one of the world’s most remarkable natural spectacles: the annual Great Migration when nearly two million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle traverse the savanna in pursuit of water and new grass. Lion and cheetah stalk in their wake.

Farther south, in Tarangire National Park, vast herds of elephant roam. Some of the continent’s greatest concentrations of wild animals, Tanzania is duly famed as a top safari destination.

The exact destinations and details  will be released shortly so subscribe to be the first to the first to know about this incredible trip!

Our African photography tours are the perfect mix of wildlife, landscapes, remote towns and cultural experiences and the warm hospitality of our tour guides and the local people. The Photo Organic team work with the our partners at African Ubuntu Safaris on our international photography trips.

You will learn as you experience and while the lessons are planned and cover every aspect - from technique and composition, time-of-day, positioning yourself for the best shot and tips of settings and gear - you will not feel like this is a classroom. You will learn naturally and have fun doing it. It's the best photography lesson you could ever imagine.

As with all our photo safaris every detail is taken care of for you, so all you need to do is come prepared with your camera to witness this truly magical opportunity.

You will come home with new camera skills, an amazing photographic portfolio, more confidence as a photographer and memories to last a lifetime.

Experience an African photo safari like no other.

With over 13 different African countries visited by African Ubuntu last year alone, the choice of destinations for our photo safaris is huge. We narrowed our sights for June 2018 on the destination that has it all - Uganda.

It’s obvious from our past African photo safaris that our guests have a soft spot for mountain gorillas. Nestled in the mist forests of Bwindi, the opportunity to sit and photograph these gentle giants is a true once in a lifetime experience.

It’s no easy logistical task to get there and requires a specialist in East African travel. With an African Ubuntu office permanently based in Uganda, we’re in safe and knowledgable hands.

As with all our photo safaris, every detail is taken care of for you, so all you need to do is come prepared with your camera to witness this truly magical opportunity.

In addition to mountain gorillas, we’ve included another remarkably rare opportunity to trek and photograph chimpanzees in Kibale forest. Despite perceptions, chimpanzees are not common, and the opportunity so see them in the wild is a rare privilege indeed and a brilliant ‘one off’ photo opportunity. Trekking through these beautiful lush forests to see chimpanzees will be an experience to savour forever, but that’s only part of a larger extraordinary experience of this tour.

In addition to primates, there is no limit to the birdlife you will see on this photo safari. Uganda is Africa’s premier bird spotting destination with the list of birds topping 1000!  Many of these birds live only in these tropical forests, and it’s thought that some of the birds living in the remote forests of Uganda may not yet be classified.

In addition to the mystical jungle of Bwindi and Kibale, we’ll venture into open plains of Ishasha in Queen Elizabeth National Park to seek out the legendary tree-climbing lions. Nowhere else in the world do lions climb trees. To see the King of the Jungle lounging high on the bough of a fig tree is a photo opportunity like no other.

In addition to lions, other big mammals include elephants, buffalos, hippos, hyenas and leopards. Common antelope species include cob, bushbuck, waterbuck and topi, which are found only in the Ishasha plains.

There are so many aspects of this photographic tour which can’t be explained in print. From the incredible landscapes and culture, we’ll capture through to the micro fauna like chameleons and bizarre insects we’ll see. It’s going to be a visual avalanche of photo opportunities.

Listening to lions in the evening as you enjoy a sundowner looking over the jungle from the balcony of your lodge is the kind of experience you just need to be there to understand.

Alistair will be your personal photographic guide. Having made several photo safaris through Uganda, you’ll be sharing Alistair’s delight of this stunning location and benefit from his experience photographing in the incredible locations we will visit.

“ Not only can’t I wait to see the look on everyone’s faces when they see a tree climbing lion or a silverback for the first time but having them capture the moment forever on camera is going to be so rewarding” - Alistair

We’re also very lucky to have Cuan McClaren (owner of African Ubuntu Safaris) as our tour guide throughout to share his vast knowledge of Uganda with us.

Running a successful Safari business doesn’t leave much time to go on safari yourself these days so we’re very lucky to have Cuan lead this trip and share his passion for Africa with us.

Being a photo safari, we’ll conduct several informal workshops on wildlife photography, principals and techniques. Camera setup and lens choice and Lightroom developing techniques. Our photo safaris always cater for all levels of photographer from the experienced wildlife photographer through to the total novice looking to learn the basics.

Limiting our group size allows everyone to benefit in a friendly sharing environment.

Photo Organic Safaris are open to everyone; after all, everyone is a photographer once they set eyes on Africa so no one should ever feel intimidated. There is so much we can all learn on an incredible trip like this no matter what level.

The format will be like all Photo Organic safaris in that as we build our folio of work from each location we’ll add favourite shots to our collection from which we will build a stunning album. At the end of the trip, Photo Organic will compile this for you as a  reminder of your incredible trip and beautiful photos.
