Day 9, 10 & 11: Okavango Delta

  • Okavango Delta Botswana (map)

After an early morning activity you will board a light aircraft and fly to the wet wilderness of the Okavango Delta. You will spend 3 nights at Pom Pom Camp on a fully inclusive basis. You will have a game viewing activity this afternoon.

Pom Pom Camp

The Camp is located on Pom Pom Island in a private concession on the western boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve and offers superb Okavango scenery and a true Okavango wilderness experience. Accommodation consists of 9 luxury safari tents in true traditional safari style, all with full en suite semi open ablution facilities, and positioned under the shade of the surrounding trees. The main building is attractively designed and constructed of thatch and canvas and comprises lounge, dining, bar and pool areas, as well as a gift shop and the boma area.

Okavango Delta

The very word "Okavango" evokes a sense of adventure and exploration, and this is exactly what the Okavango Delta is about. This intricate maze of waterways and sandy islands is an explorer's dream, and the destination should be on the wishlist of anyone looking for a unique travel experience. The geology of the Delta is fascinating, with its creation being attributed to tectonic plate action from thousands of years ago causing the Kavango River to flow from Angola into the Kalahari Desert as opposed to the Atlantic Ocean.

You will have two full days to experience the range of activities offered at the camp, including day and night game drives, game walks and mokoro (poled canoe) trips, as well as power boating and fishing.

Workshop 6: Album composition. On the final day of the tour, Alistair will demonstrate the art of compiling an album to best tell the story of your African adventure.
